Second year Extended Diploma in Creative Practice student Alice Carley has exhibited her work in the prestigious Origins Creatives 2022 exhibition.

Alice’s piece, ‘Junk Airship’, was selected from hundreds of submissions from around the country. Alice says about the piece: "This design reflects my passion for fantasy concept artwork and blends the ideas of a junk ship with an airship, to create a unique, mythical vessel. The design applies the underlying principles of a real-world airship, in terms of scale, dimensions, and flyability, whilst creating a ship which is wholly fantastical in nature, as if it may be imagined appearing in a Victoriana science-fiction story”.
Katie Holmes, Director of Further Education at the University said: “Alice’s piece was one of the highlights of our final exhibition: inventive and beautifully made. We’re really proud that the work was selected from so many submissions and that it continued the Extended Diploma at Leeds Arts University’s success in recent years in exhibiting work at Origins”.
The work is also featured in an online version of the exhibition here.
