Dr Attah talks the Blues with Cerys

BMus (Hons) Popular Music Performance Course Leader Dr Tom Attah made an appearance on Radio 2’s ‘The Cerys Matthews Blues Show’.

The show’s producers approached Dr Attah looking for a musician and academic to talk about blues history on the Radio 2 show, which has recently featured The Charlatan’s frontman Tim Burgess, and vocalist Maggie Bell.

The interview featured music from Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Big Bill Broonzy and Josh White, while Dr Attah discussed the celebrated tours made by American blues artists to the UK bringing about the British blues boom of the 1960s.
