Creative Advertising student impresses at Two+Two industry event

29 March 2022

Final year BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student Taylor Orford has secured the opportunity to spend a day with Social Chain founder and Dragon’s Den investor Steven Bartlett after winning this year’s Two+Two event.

Organised by Manchester-based marketing and creative recruitment agency Creative Resource, the event brought together 200 students from over 16 universities to work alongside industry mentors from creative agencies on a live client brief.

Taylor was part of the winning team which included students from four other northern universities. As well as spending time with Steven Bartlett, they will also have their final ideas displayed on the second largest digital billboard in Europe, on the Victoria Warehouse.

Julie Ollerton, managing director at Creative Resource, said: “It was great to have Two+Two back as an in-person event once again. This year’s students were set a challenging brief by Wejo, and the quality of the creative ideas was of a high standard that blew the judges away. I’m confident we’ll see the names and faces of this year’s winners at the front of the industry in the near future.”

Two+Two was launched by Creative Resource in 2018 after noticing the lack of opportunities for marketing and creative students to work together on live briefs. The event, now in its fifth year, attracted 200 students from marketing, advertising, and creative courses, or those wishing to work in the industry. Over 25 creative and marketing agencies were involved.

This year’s challenge focused on data for good and sustainability in transport and was set by headline sponsor Wejo, a Manchester-based connected vehicle data software solutions provider.
