Organised every five years by the Hayward Gallery as part of the Hayward Touring programme, the British Art Show showcases the very best work of both emerging and established artists.
It is the biggest touring exhibition of contemporary art in the UK calendar, attracting over 420,000 visitors in its tour to four cities in 2010 and 2011. After Leeds the show will go on tour to a further three cities Edinburgh, Norwich and Southampton.
Staff, students and alumni of Leeds College of Art are involved in a number of supporting events and exhibitions for the British Art Show…
Axisweb
Yorkshire based arts charity Axisweb produced a series of films spotlighting different aspects of the visual art scene in the city. The organisation, which champions artists by enabling the development, sharing and showcasing of their ideas and talent, chose Leeds College of Art for the focus of their second film.
