Talented students from BA (Hons) Animation have been recognised at the Kodak/Nahemi Student Commercial competition after being placed third in their brief category.
The four graduating students Bethan Reast, Harry Richards, Maddie Hancocks and Daisy Lewis, were awarded third in brief for their 16mm animated commercial for HUN, a non-alcoholic wine in a can.
The competition asked students from across the country to create a 30 second commercial for well-known brands, all shot on one roll of 16mm film stock provided by Kodak.

The awards were presented at the historic Regent Street Cinema, an independent British Cinema located on Regent Street, London. Opened in 1848, it is regarded as the birthplace of British cinema and is known for hosting the first ever screening of a moving image film in the UK.
The competition is organised by NAHEMI, the National Association for Higher Education in the Moving Image.

Student winner Harry Richards says of the award: “The Nahemi-Kodak award is something I have taken part in every year I have studied at Leeds Arts University, and each year has been one of the things I've looked forward to most.
Each year we've tried to improve upon our previous efforts and experiment with new techniques within the limitations of the competition and so to be awarded third in the 'Best in Brief' category is really an honour for all of us and really something that means a lot after being a part of the competition during our three years at University.”
