Leeds Arts University are sponsoring and partnering with Thought Bubble Festival; a week-long celebration of comics, illustration, animation and more.
Thought Bubble is the UK's biggest comic art festival, held from 4 - 10 November including the Thought Bubble Comic Con at the Harrogate Convention Centre from 9 - 10 November 2019 where our second year BA (Hons) Comic & Concept Art students will be exhibiting in Mercy Hall, on tables 61 and 155, alongside some of our alumni.
In association with Thought Bubble Festival, Comic & Concept Art students will present an exhibition documenting the characters and stories that occupy the places, space and environments of Quarry Hill as seen through their eyes. The Comic & Concept Art Exhibition will open at The Gallery at 164 from 28 October - 21 December.
Creative Networks x Thought Bubble: Thursday 7 November 2019 5.30-8.30pm
Creative Networks, Leeds Arts University’s major professional events programme, have partnered with Thought Bubble to host an evening with the writer, screenwriter and editor Brian Azzarello.
Brian came to prominence with his crime series 100 Bullets. He has written mostly for DC Comics/Vertigo on titles such as Batman, Joker and Wonder Woman. Brian was the screenwriter on films Batman: The Killing Joke and Batman: Gotham Knight.
The event will take place on Thursday 7 November, from 5.30 – 8.30pm at Leeds Arts University’s Blenheim Walk building. Numbers are limited and booking is essential. Click here to book your place.
Please note the start time of 5.30pm is for drinks prior to when the talk starts at 6.30pm in the auditorium.
