((RE)SOUND)

08 December - 18 December 2017

A debut exhibition presented by the students of the new Curation Practices MA at Leeds Arts University.

Working collaboratively, we have brought together the work of artists responding to the concept of ((RE)SOUND) through language, sound and place.

A literal reading of the word resound suggests a space filled with noise, echoes or vibrations. Taking this as our starting point, we are also exploring different ways to experience and understand the resonance of language, which vibrates with echoes, memories and meaning, togetherness and alienation.

The ((RE)SOUND) exhibition space is alternately a place of movement and stillness, a junction and a liminal space where the play of sounds and voices is followed by quiet.

By bringing together work in a range of media, audio and visual, our aim is to create an exhibition that will resound within the place, as well as with the viewer. We invite you to pause and experience ((RE)SOUND).

This exhibition is on display at our Blenheim Walk building by appointment only. Please contact Catriona McAra, University Curator, to make an appointment at catriona.mcara@leeds-art.ac.uk or 0113 202 8263.
