Paula Fleming - Spectres

Paula Fleming is currently undertaking a practice-led PhD in the School of Art, Design and Architecture at the University of Huddersfield, where she is investigating notions of erasure and becoming.

Fleming’s interests lie in the transitory nature of media and experience. Bones and branches are recurrent subject matter for her, and the support is ever more intangible, altered by processes of washing, rubbing and sanding.

Fleming’s project is philosophically underpinned by Walter Benjamin’s idea that language is the “ultimate reality.”
