In lieu of Rachel Goodyear’s postponed solo exhibition at Leeds Arts University, our University Curator, Dr Catriona McAra, has collaborated on a publication with Corridor8 Magazine, Rachel Goodyear: Of Wolves and Wild Women.
The publication includes a new essay by guest writer, Professor Patricia Allmer (University of Edinburgh), and an experimental text by emerging Northern writer Cathy Garner.
The following in-conversation between Allmer and Goodyear has been curated by Leeds Arts University to coincide with the launch the Corridor8 publication. Allmer draws out themes of entanglement and in-betweenness in Goodyear’s ongoing practice of drawing and animations. The artist also shares insights into her studio process and materials, as well as reflections on how she has worked through lockdown.
