18 September 2019

If you are coming along to one of our undergraduate open days, or are thinking about booking a place, check out our helpful guide to making the most of your day and getting all the information you need to decide if Leeds Arts University is the right place for you to study.

Come prepared

Once you’ve signed up to attend an open day you’ll receive lots of information about what to expect on the day. You’ll get two emails, one about two weeks before and one two days before. You will also receive an open day guide in the post at least seven days before your visit. Make sure you read these carefully, and if there is anything else you need to know, please ask!

It is a good idea to think about how you will get to us, and book any trains or research car parks in advance (your open day guide will help). Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get there so you don’t arrived flustered and can make the most of the day. If you do arrive late and miss the session you have booked for don’t worry, you can attend alternative sessions throughout the day. If you do arrive late and miss the session you have booked for don’t worry, you can attend alternative sessions throughout the day. Our building will be open until 4pm, with course talks taking place at 10am, 12pm, 2pm.

Speak to staff and students

Attending an open day is the best opportunity you will have to speak to staff and students about what it is like to study at Leeds Arts University. Have a think about what you might want to ask before you come, and don’t be afraid to ask as many questions as you like!

Tour the workshops

As an arts degree student, the equipment available to you on a day-to-day basis in the will play an important role in your studies. Leeds Arts University has been recognised for offering industry standard facilities, so make sure you take the opportunity to visit them! Our workshops will be open throughout the day, with our friendly student ambassadors on hand to show you around and answer your questions.

Visit the accommodation

If you are moving away from home to study, it is a good idea to have a look at where you might be living. Leeds Arts University offer high quality secure student accommodation within easy reach of the city centre and flats will be open for you to have a look around. If you don’t get chance to look at the accommodation don’t worry as there will be other opportunities to visit accommodation if you attend for an interview.

Explore Leeds!

If this is your first visit to Leeds try to allow yourself a little extra time to get to know some of the city. If you are coming by train you’ll have chance to see the city centre if you choose to walk up from the station. Why not make a day of it and stay for a bite to eat or a drink in one of the city’s many restaurants or bars.
