Entry Requirements

Portfolio

A strong portfolio/audition is required for all courses.

 

Foundation Diploma in Art & Design

Certificate of Completed Secondary Education (Svidetel'stvo o Srednem Obrazovanii).

Plus IELTS for UKVI 5.0 with no component below 4.5 (IELTS for UKVI is the only test accepted by UK Visas & Immigration for entry to Further Education courses).

Undergraduate Degrees

If you have completed the Certificate of Completed Secondary Education (Svidetel'stvo o Srednem Obrazovanii), will need to take an additional course before applying for an undergraduate degree at Leeds Arts University.

This will usually be achieved by completing a recognised foundation course, such as our Foundation Diploma in Art & Design, or other comparable qualification.

Students who have completed one year studying a Bachelor (Bakalavr) or Specialist Diploma at a recognised institution, with an average score of at least 3.5 out of 5 are invited to apply to our undergraduate courses.

Each application will require a strong portfolio of art/design work, plus evidence of your English Language ability equivalent to IELTS 5.5 with no component less than 5.5. Please see English Language for details of accepted qualifications.

Postgraduate Degrees

A second class upper division honours degree or international equivalent; or a relevant professional qualification at an equivalent level, supported by a portfolio of work.

Candidates holding other academic qualifications will also be considered for admission provided they have substantial relevant professional experience and a portfolio of work.

For MA Creative Practice please include a proposal with your application outlining the area of practice you wish to develop, what you hope to achieve, a bibliography of books and resources you intend to use and the facilities and support you believe you will need.

Plus evidence of your English Language ability equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
