Nick Rodgers is a Subject Leader on the BA (Hons) Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern Design course with responsibility for digital design.

Nick studied BA (hons) Printed Textiles at the Glasgow School of Art and MA (Textile Design) at the Royal College of Art. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has been a steering group member of the Association of Fashion and Textiles Courses. He has worked in numerous higher education institutions and has acted as an external examiner and consultant for design courses throughout the country.

Nick has worked as a freelance textile designer for fashion exhibiting and selling design work in Europe, North America and Japan. He has also completed numerous commissioned projects for national and international organisations such The Open University, British Telecom, Glaxo Smith-Kline and the Arcadia Group.

His current practice and research explores drawing processes and includes investigations relating to non-image based pattern generation using publicly available data. He has exhibited Digital Textile artworks throughout the UK.

Nick has responsibility for supporting digital textile practice. He works with students across all levels of the course and has a particular interest in developing students’ skills in generating repeat patterns and creating innovative design solutions for a range of contexts.
