Maria is a lecturer on the BA (Hons) Fashion Photography programme. She has been teaching at the University since 2008. Maria has also taught at other FE & HE institutions teaching BA (Hons) Fashion Communication and Promotion. Maria’s qualifications include an MA in Photography where she gained a Distinction, a PGCE in Art and Design in addition to her BA in Theatre Design and Costume.

Maria’s commercial experience was working initially in the theatre then moving to fashion assisting work and then to a studio photographer for a commercial beauty organisation.

Maria's personal work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. During her career in education Maria has worked as an arts practitioner for many national arts and educational organisations and charities in addition to commissions and artist in residence posts.

Maria’s research interests are around developing and sustaining relationships with alumni and additionally working with social media tools through her research of the theory and practice of education.

Maria plays a very active role in assisting with the planning and delivery of many successful national and international student visits.
