Position: University Curator
Salary: £49,553 - £54,131 per annum
Hours: Full Time 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England and has contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years.
An exciting vacancy has arisen for a University Curator to oversee the development and implementation of Exhibitions and Libraries to meet the strategic aims of the institution. The Curator will provide leadership for excellence in exhibitions, publications, collection development, interpretation, access, research, archive and library services and includes line management responsibilities. The role involves delivery of all aspects of curatorial programs and projects including curating diverse and thought-provoking exhibition programmes of global significance. The post holder will oversee and manage budgets for both the exhibitions and the library and will fully contribute to the research aims of the University.
The successful candidate will be educated to PhD level and will have a research profile related to curation. They will have relevant experience of working with national and regional galleries, as well as having the technical abilities to frame, hang and install exhibitions. The candidate will demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, be self-motivated, proactive and organised as well as having an understanding of the arts education environment.
