Position: 3D Instructor (Ceramics)

Salary: £21,814 - £24,461 per annum

Hours: Full Time

Contract: Fixed Term – Up to 12 months Maternity Cover                  

Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. 

The successful candidate will work as part of a team applying knowledge and skills to plan and deliver inductions about relevant processes and prepare learning materials to aid staff and students. They will also work flexibly, providing support to staff and students by setting up and maintaining equipment and materials in the 3D workshops.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves some flexibility in working hours and could include evening sessions when required.

The successful applicant should have an arts degree that incorporates significant use of Ceramics, Clay and Plaster mould making and casting work. They should also have a sound knowledge and understanding in at least 1 of the following areas:

  • Mould making /casting techniques
  • Clay Building
  • Ceramic Glazing
  • Ceramic Processes (Firing)

Previous experience in assisting or instructing students is essential to this role as well as being able to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
