The specialist BA (Hons) Illustration course focuses on the role of applied illustration in the contemporary creative industries and broader visual culture. The course is a competitive choice for students who want to commit to an innovative course of studio based study.
Our students engage in a range of approaches to image making. You will have a strong understanding of how to support specialist illustration practices within a broader creative and commercial context. You will also need the skills or connections to build links with appropriate external organisations, events and opportunities for publishing and exhibiting student work.
An opportunity has arisen for a practicing illustrator / academic to join this dynamic course. The main focus of the role will be to deliver, support and assess modules that support students in defining and refining their specialist illustration practice. You will be expected to support the practical, conceptual and contextual aspects of the course. Working individually and as a member of a team you will be expected to deliver teaching within a variety of settings including lectures, seminars, studio workshops, peer reviews and individual tutorials.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject and have knowledge and expertise as a contemporary practitioner in Illustration. An MA or studying towards one would be desirable.
