Ope is a Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Fine Art programme, specialising in lens based media and time based art practice.
Born in 1984, Dr Ope Lori lives and works in London. She had her first solo show 'Eye Have The Power' at the WAC Gallery London in 2011 and was then featured as an up-and-coming artist in magazine Diva. She exhibited in the Santorini Biennale in Greece in 2012 and was part of the WW Solo Awards in 2012 & 2014. Building on earlier successes, in 2013 she had her second solo show 'I Want Me Some Brown Sugar', sponsored by the Arts Council England at the 198 Contemporary Arts and Learning London. This exhibition put her work on an international stage. In 2014 she then exhibited in 'Possession', a show on black womanhood at the New Shelter Plan Gallery, Copenhagen. Since then she has shown her work alongside internationally world revered artists, such as Kara E Walker and Ayana V Jackson, in shows such as 'La Parole aux Femmes: Women Speak Out''.
