We caught up with student Jessica Regan to find out more about studying BA (Hons) Fashion Photography at Leeds Arts University.
Why did you choose to study at Leeds Arts University?
I chose to study at Leeds Arts University because of the specialist support and equipment available to me throughout the University. Leeds Arts University has a welcoming environment that brings creatives together.
What do you specialise in and what are you working on at the moment?
I specialise in fashion and documentary photography. I’m working on an experimental moving image piece which will document lifestyle, fashion and friendship. I really want to focus in on moving image before coming back to Leeds Arts University to start my second year.
How does the University help you develop your practice?
After completing my first year I’ve had chance to spend time looking back at the projects I’ve been a part of this year. The University staff have been supportive of my creative ideas and have helped me to develop skills and knowledge that I have applied to my work. I’ve felt encouraged and motivated to improve my practice and to collaborate.
What do you plan to do after University?
After University…I’m unsure! I know that I want to make fashion photographs and I’m eager to get stuck into my work. I plan to gain experience in industry and to keep meeting and working with other fashion creatives.
What makes Leeds a good place to study?
Leeds is huge. Full of interesting fashions and locations to be used for shoots as well as plenty of exhibitions and book stores scattered around. There’s always something happening!
