Eva-Lili Halpin studied on the Foundation Diploma in Art and Design before enrolling on BA (Hons) Fashion Photography.
Why did you choose to study at Leeds Arts University?
Whilst studying on the Foundation Diploma I had already seen the fantastic facilities and resources at Leeds Arts University. The photography resource especially drew me in, with the wide ranging studios and equipment, it was something I had not seen anywhere else.
What do you specialise in, and what are you working on at the moment?
I specialise in fashion photography. I am currently working on a zine publication and a moving image piece, both areas I haven't worked in before but it’s exciting trying out new things and testing new ideas using different mediums.
How does the University help you to develop your practice?
My tutors and lecturers have been so helpful in giving me feedback and helping me push my ideas. The photography resources allow me to experiment with the high tech equipment and gives me full use of the studios including our very own fashion photography studio.
What do you plan to do after University?
I plan on travelling around the major fashion cities building up my portfolio and network. I hope to one day have a job in a fashion magazine or creative company that pushes the boundaries in terms of fashion image making and film.
What makes Leeds a good place to study?
Leeds is a great! We have everything from nightlife to shopping and we are not too far from the countryside if you needed to get out of the city. I feel that the University environment is friendly and supportive; it really allows you to be who you want to be and push your creativity.
