01 June 2018

Final year BA (Hons) Creative Advertising student, Jake Scott, has been announced as one of the award winners at D&AD New Blood 2018

Jake has been awarded a coveted D&AD Pencil for his work ‘How buying a house is a bit like Barca buying Coutinho’, in response to a brief set by Nationwide & Shelter.

His pencil level will be revealed at the New Blood Awards ceremony, held in London on Thursday 12 July, as part of New Blood Festival 2018. He now has the opportunity to apply for New Blood Academy, a creative bootcamp designed to help young creatives get into the industry.

On winning a D&AD Pencil Jake said:-

“I am very happy and surprised to have won the award - I can’t think of a better way to end my time at Uni.”

The New Blood festival brings together emerging talent and industry professionals, with students from university courses around the UK exhibiting their work. This year Leeds Arts University students from BA (Hons) Animation, BA (Hons) Creative Advertising, BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Illustration will have the opportunity to showcase their talent, network with industry and receive expert advice from those in the know.
