We caught up with BA (Hons) Animation student Natalia about studying in the UK, what inspires her work and her plans after graduation...

How did you first hear about Leeds Arts University?

A friend of mine is a recent graduate of LCA

Why did you choose to study at Leeds Arts University?

The reason I chose to study at LCA was because of how well the facilities are, and also because the course covers everything I am interested in learning.

What are the advantages of studying at a specialist arts institution?

I would say the main and most important advantage of studying at a specialist arts institution is the artistic environment one is surrounded with. Every student has art as a common interest and this makes the learning experience much more enjoyable and its easier to make friends.

How have you adjusted to life in the UK and what advice would you give a new international student?

It didn’t took me long to adjust to the life in the UK, everyone so far has made me feel welcome and accepted.

The only advise I have for a new international student is to be careful when crossing the road… it can get to be extremely confusing if you come from a country where they drive on the right!

What are the studios and facilities like at the University?

They are AMAZING! Clean, well equipped and the working staff is always there to help.

Do you feel that studying at Leeds Arts University is preparing you well for life after graduation?

Yes, extremely well.

Tell us what you like about living in Leeds

Leeds its an amazing city, its full of life and there are plenty things to do. The thing I like the most about living in Leeds is the nightlife, there are always huge events and good DJ’s playing at clubs. However, Leeds is not only good during the night… throughout the day I enjoy going to coffee shops and walking around Leeds beautiful parks.
