Our Portfolio Development course for international students is a stimulating mix of workshops, studio sessions and excursions in the vibrant and multi-cultural city of Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for students preparing to study creative arts at degree level.

You can choose to do either one week or two. Further information can be found below. 

The course is aimed at students looking to develop their experience and explore a range of of artistic approaches while expanding their portfolios in preparation for specialist degree level study in art and design.

Students will develop new skills and gain hands on experience in order to build up a unique body of work whilst learning new approaches to image making.

We will push your work in lively and experimental directions. You will gain skills in mark-making, drawing, ideas generation and the exploration of media. We encourage new ways of thinking and seeing that can be applied to any specialism including Graphic Design, Illustration, Craft, Design, 3D, Fine Art, Fashion, Textiles and Photography.

Working in our specialist art school setting, you will broaden your understanding of what it means to be a professional artist or designer, and increase your confidence in your own skills.

We are based in the centre of the vibrant and multi-cultural city of Leeds, the UK’s No. 1 student city! A favourite destination for international students with amazing art, culture, shopping and nightlife, located two hours from London by train.

We have a 170 year history in art and design education, and we are proud to have won the Whatuni Student Choice Award for UK University with the Best Facilities twice in three years!

Accommodation: Student apartment style accommodation in single study bedrooms with private bathroom and shared living areas. Each apartment has a fully equipped kitchen. The cost is included in the course fee.
