What happens next?

We invite shortlisted applicants to a face-to-face interview (if you are already in the UK) or a Skype interview (if you are outside the UK).

You should receive your invitation within two weeks of submitting your application.

We conduct Skype interviews throughout the year and try our best to schedule interviews that fit with a range of time zones around the world.

Your interview is an opportunity to discuss your application and your portfolio with our specialist staff and ask any questions you might have. Each interview lasts approximately 20 minutes and is conducted by a panel of two staff members.

Preparing and submitting your portfolio

Your portfolio is an important part of the application process. It is a collection of your work demonstrating how your skills and ideas have developed over time and helps us to evaluate your potential to succeed.

Your portfolio could include the following:

  • A selection of art and design work completed as part of a course of study at school or University
  • Work you have done out of personal interest
  • Copies of pages from your electronic or paper notebooks or sketchbooks
  • If you wish, your submission can also include work in progress

Please submit your portfolio or samples of work by sending a link or attachments to international@leeds-art.ac.uk (*.doc, *.pdf or *.jpg formats only). Please include your full name (UCAS ID if appropriate) and the course you are applying to in the subject line.

If the images are too big for an email, please send them via WeTransfer.

Please see the portfolio guide section for further details.
