About
Personal development planning is offered to all full-time students taking Extended Diploma in Art & Design or the Level Two Diploma in Art & Design. This consists of three elements:
Tutorials
All students benefit from a tutorial programme which supports their learning. You will receive advice on careers, study skills and welfare, as well as course information. In addition, you will have individual tutorials each term during which you can discuss, in confidence, any issues affecting your work—such as finances or personal circumstances. Once a term, your portfolio of coursework will be reviewed by course tutors in order to monitor your progress.
Personal & professional development
College is just one step on your path to the future. Whether you want to go to university or have decided to look for a job after college, or still have no idea what the future holds, there are certain skills which will be invaluable to you now and in the future. On your course you will develop and practise a range of communication and ICT skills which will be relevant regardless of the path you choose. These skills are all highly valued by colleges, universities and workplaces throughout the country.
Enrichment activities
We hope your time at our College will help you develop your own interests and extend your experience across a wide range of activities. In addition to your studies, you will have the opportunity to take part in educational visits and attend talks by visiting lecturers and speakers. We also hope you will get involved in the range of clubs and informal activities arranged by both teaching staff and the Students’ Union. If we don’t cater for your particular interest, we can always suggest ways in which you might organise it for yourself!
