Remember, we’re here to help. Whether that’s to help you get the most out of your time at the College, or to help you get here in the first place, our Student Advice Team is your first port of call. You should visit the government’s website about student finance; the information there is comprehensive and is updated regularly. Our FAQs page may also help.
Residential Bursary and Public Transport Award Residential Support Scheme
The Further Education Residential Support Scheme helps you to access education not available within reasonable daily travelling distance of your home. This funding is to be confirmed for 2012/2013 by the funding agencies. For further information, please contact the national helpline on 0161 2347021, or our Student Advice Team.
Discretionary Learning Support Fund
This fund could help you if you need extra financial support because you have higher than expected costs, have an unforeseen financial emergency, or face serious financial problems during your course. Please contact our Student Advice Team.
Childcare Fund
This is available to students aged 19 and over who are studying with us for more than six hours per week. Children should be up to 15 years old and be with a registered childminder, crèche or nursery.
Students with a disability
The Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) can help with the extra costs you may face as a result of attending your course and your disability. The guide Bridging the Gap provides more information, and is available from our Student Advice Team.
