UCAS application

You can apply to our courses through UCAS. Our institution code name is LAD and our number is L28. You can apply from September. However, we do not start to process applications until the first week in November.

You can simultaneously apply for up to five courses. The closing date for applications is 15 January. Applications submitted to UCAS after this date will be forwarded to our College until 30th June; it is at the College’s discretion as to whether we will consider these late applications. Please note that we do not process any Post-15th January applications until due consideration has been given to all on time 15th January applications. This could mean that your application is held until the end of May before it is considered. We are currently not accepting deferred applications.

On some of our courses, demand is very high. Although we would like to be able to interview all applicants, this has proved to be impossible on some particularly popular programmes. We select and make offers on the basis of the UCAS application form and qualifications. A number of courses also require you to complete a pre-interview task. In general, our interview process starts in January and ends in April. If you are unavailable during this period, please indicate this in the box provided on your UCAS application.

UCAS Extra

UCAS Extra is for applicants who do not hold any offers or a place after their initial five choices. UCAS Extra allows applicants to make additional choices, one at a time, to alternative universities and colleges.

The process normally starts in February and finishes in July. The courses available through UCAS Extra can be found by visiting the UCAS website and clicking on 'Course Search'. You can also contact universities and colleges direct to find out where places remain available.

Clearing

Clearing takes place in August, shortly after most prospective students have received their results. If you become eligible for Clearing UCAS will automatically install an ‘Add Clearing Choice’ button to appear on your ‘Track Choices’. You will become eligible for clearing for a number of reasons:

  • You do not have any offers from any universities or colleges
  • You did not meet the conditions of your offer
  • You have declined, or not responded to, a changed course or date of entry or point of entry offer
  • You have applied too late for your application to be considered before Clearing

You can find out which courses have vacancies on the UCAS website and in the national media from around 15th August.

You can also contact our Student Advice Team for advice on which courses have places available, and how to apply through Clearing. You can do this before you receive your Clearing entry form.
